Documentation/Wizard Guide/Step 3: Network Selection

Step Overview

In Step 3, you'll select the specific Meraki network where your guest portal will be deployed. This network will contain the wireless SSID that guests will connect to.

Network Selection Process

Automatic Network Loading

The wizard automatically fetches all networks from your selected organization using the Meraki API.

  • Networks are loaded with their names and types
  • Only networks you have access to will be displayed
  • Network types (wireless, appliance, switch, etc.) are shown for clarity

Network Selection Tips

  • Choose the network where your guest WiFi will be located
  • Typically select a "wireless" or "combined" network type
  • Consider the physical location where guests will connect
  • Ensure the network has wireless access points configured

Common Issues & Solutions

No Networks Available

If no networks are displayed:

  • • Verify your API key has network-level permissions
  • • Check that the organization has configured networks
  • • Ensure you selected the correct organization in Step 2

Network Loading Failed

If networks fail to load:

  • • Refresh the page and try again
  • • Verify your internet connection
  • • Check the Meraki Dashboard status page
  • • Contact support if the issue persists

What Happens Next

After selecting your network, you'll proceed to Step 4 where you'll configure the specific SSID (wireless network name) that guests will connect to, along with security settings and group policies.
